The book is devoted to one of the pressing problems of modern medicine - pain that occurs in individual muscles and muscle groups. A new point of view is formulated on the nature of the origin of myofascial trigger points, their electrodiagnostic potentials, and the histogenesis of trigger points is revealed. The authors attempted to identify the hidden relationships that arise between myofascial trigger points and joint (functional) disorders. Progress in understanding the pathophysiological basis of many clinical phenomena associated with myofascial trigger points is reflected. Various methods of influencing trigger points are considered: local cooling, muscle stretching, compression, post-isometric relaxation. Methods for needling trigger points are described in detail.
