"Lamia" is a poetic ballad by John Keats, a British romantic, included in the golden classics of English literature. In this work, the author combined the classical Greek legend of the magical Lamia with his own philosophical reflections on the nature of fantasy and reality. Describing the love between Lamia and a man, Keats addresses the theme of breaking the boundaries between idyll and reality, illusion and truth. The wit of the poetic speech, the wealth of images and the deep philosophical background make this poem one of the most outstanding works of literature of the 19th century.
