"Lord of the World" is a dystopian novel by the Irish writer Robert Hugh Benson. In this book, the author depicts a future where the world is engulfed in general godlessness and secularism. The main character, Francis Chitterick, becomes a witness of large-scale social transformations, where humanity loses faith in God and is separated from spiritual values.
In this darkness, the author absorbs diametrically opposed characters: some of them participate in the construction of the New World, supporting his ideas, while others remain faithful to traditional values and fight against the emerging system.
"Lord of the World" touches on current topics and problems, such as faith, morality, totalitarianism, which are often addressed in modern post-apocalyptic novels. The author gives the reader an opportunity to think about the essence of human nature and the constant search for truth."
