Significant contributions to biopolymer science are made in Fiber Research, 1895-1900 by Cross, C. F. (Charles Frederick) and Bevan, E. J. (Edward John). Having accidentally discovered a new method of producing cellulose fibers, scientists began to systematically investigate the properties of this material and its possible applications. The book presents the results of their first discoveries, experimental data and concrete examples of the use of cellulosic materials. This work became an important contribution to the study of fiber and influenced the development of modern biochemistry and materials science.
