Los cien mil hijos de San Luis is a novel by the Spanish writer Benito Perez Galdos. In this epic historical book, the author recreates the events of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era in Spain. The main character, Saint Louis, is an image of the real historical character Louis I, the brother of the French king Louis XVI. Through the prism of his own family and a rich family, Galdos reveals the fate of people of various social strata who are deprived of crown princes, behave in the framework of general rebellion or, on the contrary, support the former regime.
