Los cien mil hijos de San Luis is a novel by the Spanish writer Benito Perez Galdos. Through the prism of his own family and a rich family, Galdos reveals the fate of people of various social strata who are deprived of crown princes, behave in the framework of general rebellion or, on the contrary, support the former regime. The book impresses with its depth of understanding of human fears and hopes, internal contradictions of society and raises the question of historical memory and its influence on modernity. Los cien mil hijos de San Luis is a work that allows the reader to be transported to the distant events of the past and read it through the prism of the individual stories of the characters.
