Thomas Hardy's Woodmen is a novel that tells a story of love, loss and sacrifice. The main character, Grace Melbourne, lives among trees and nature, and gives her heart to the ambitious Dr. Edgard Fils. However, her love meets an obstacle in the form of a new resident of the village, Felicity Chart, who wins Philsy's heart and begins to lead him away from Grace. The novel "The Foresters" skillfully reproduces the internal conflicts of the heroine and her desire for a happy life in a remote and difficult forest.
