The Irish Ecclesiastical Record, Volume 1, September 1865, is the first edition in a series of publications which began to collect and preserve valuable sources on the history and life of the church community in Ireland in the middle of the 19th century. The editors of this publication reflected in its pages a wide range of issues: from church events and appeals of the clergy to actual social issues that concern Irish society at that time. In addition, the book contains chapters devoted to church music, medical issues, religious education and other aspects of the country's spiritual life.
