This book tells the story of a young woman named Clotel, who was estranged from her family and beloved husband due to the system of slavery. Persistent and courageous, she fights for her freedom and dignity in circumstances where a woman of color has to go through many trials and tribulations.
This book is an important work of anti-slavery literature and embodies the message of the need for liberation and equality.
