In April 2014, the Panamanian police received a report about the disappearance of two girls from the Netherlands - Chris Kremers and Lysanne Fron, who went for a walk along the popular tourist route "El Pianista trail". Despite a long search, the remains of their bodies were not found until a few months later, and the discovered evidence provoked many theories regarding their mysterious death.
Investigators were shocked by the pictures in Lissan's camera, found along with other things in a backpack. It contained 133 photographs taken between April 1 and 8, and the former head of the Dutch investigative team, Frank van de Goth, called the night photos "ominous" and compared them to a horror movie.
Contradictory testimonies of witnesses, criticism Panamanian authorities and many inconsistencies turned this case into one of the most high-profile - this disappearance is still being studied by investigators, journalists and relatives of the girls. Why is the investigation taking so long? What versions of what happened exist? What really happened to Chris and Lisanne on this ill-fated journey?
The answers to these and many other questions will be revealed by the authors of the book - Jürgen Snooren and Maria West.
