Trying to unravel the mystery of the prince's death, Wyndham and Sergeant Indestructible find themselves in a real web that has entangled the Maharaja's possessions. the Maharaja's wives, his concubines, eunuchs, their bodyguards, ministers, British officials - somewhere among them a murderer lurks, and the detectives must find him before he opens the hunt for them.

"Неминуче зло" - це другий роман у детективному циклі, який знову переносить нас у захоплюючий світ Калькутти початку XX століття. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу епохи, відтворюючи деталі життя в Індії, політичні інтриги та соціальні конфлікти. Сюжет розвивається навколо загадкового вбивства сина махараджі, що надає історії напруги та динаміки. Капітан Віндем і сержант Незламний - це справжні детективи, які вміло розплутують клубок інтриг, і їхні взаємини додають глибини сюжету. Читач відчуває себе частиною розслідування, разом із героями намагаючись знайти вбивцю серед безлічі підозрюваних. Хоча текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом якість перекладу досить висока, і лише поодинокі фрази можуть викликати непорозуміння.
