This book attempts to trace the contribution of the contemporary French psychoanalyst André Green to the understanding of the functioning of the psychosomatic (somatizing) patient in comparison, addition to the Paris psychoanalytic school of psychosomatics (P. Marty, M. Fan, M. de Muzan). Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the functioning of non-neurotic patients (processes of somatization and splitting). The contribution of the Paris School to the understanding of psychosomatic functioning is considered. Points of contact and divergence between A. Green and P. Marty are shown. The economic approach to understanding somatization in a patient is detailed. The following concepts are differentiated: hysterical, hypochondriacal and somatic syndrome, somatic crisis, negative hallucination of the body, white psychosis, phallic narcissism, essential depression in psychoanalytic psychosomatics. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of psychoanalytic treatment for psychosomatic collapse in a patient.
