Can we unconditionally trust our feelings and what we see? Ever since Homo sapiens appeared on earth, natural selection has favored distorted perceptions of reality to sustain life and reproduce. How can it be possible that the world we see is not an objective reality?
We see a speeding car, but do not run across the road in front of it| we see mold on bread, but we don't eat it. According to the author, all these impressions are not an objective reality. The implications of this perception are huge: fashion designers are sewing more pleasing silhouettes, and advertising campaigns are using certain colors to grab our attention. Only by distorting reality can we easily and safely move around the world.
