Richard Brautigan (1935–1984) was an American novelist and poet, an iconic figure in the counterculture of the 60s and 70s, who inspired many writers from Erlend Lou and Christopher Moore to Haruki Murakami and Sarah Hall.

The book includes: the last published novel "The Unfortunate Woman", which in form is a traveler's diary, and in content - a deep internal monologue, as well as the novel "Willard and his bowling alley prizes" about a chain of absurd events and comic situations in which the characters fell, and about disunity between them.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
