Heydar Jemal is a philosopher and public figure, the ideologist of political Islam. Born in 1947 in Moscow. In 1965 he entered the Institute of Oriental Languages, but a year later he was expelled from it for political reasons. In the 70s, Dzhemal became one of the leaders of the non-conformist underground in Moscow. He writes a number of articles of a futurological nature, predicting the political fate of the Soviet regime. The forecasts were fully confirmed. In 1990, Jemal took part in the creation of the Islamic Renaissance Party, becoming the deputy chairman of this party. At the Khartoum Conference in 1992, Heydar Jemal proposed the creation of an international Islamic Committee. In 2001, Jemal led a large-scale project of interaction between political Islam and Western anti-globalists. However, despite his activity, Jemal is rather not a politician, but a philosopher. It was in this capacity that he won authority both among Muslims, primarily among the radical Muslim intelligentsia of Russia, and abroad.
