Pekka Himanen (b. 1973) is a Finnish sociologist, theorist and researcher of the information age. His "Hacker Ethics" is a real programmatic manifesto of informationalism - the concept of social reorganization based on free access to any information. The book, written back in the late 1990s, has not lost its significance as a monument to the romantic era, when the structure of the rapidly developing Internet was perceived by many as a prototype of the free networked society of the future. It is no coincidence that the prologue and epilogue for this book were written respectively by Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, the most famous open source operating system, and Manuel Castells, a leading theorist of the information society. The publisher's layout has been preserved in a4.pdf format.< /p>
