The Sonderkommando members to whom this book is dedicated are the auxiliary workers of the Auschwitz-Birkenau brigades, which the Nazis made up almost exclusively of Jews, forcing them to assist themselves in the mass murder of tens and hundreds of thousands of other people, both Jews and and non-Jews, in the gas chambers, in the cremation of their corpses and in the disposal of their ashes, gold teeth and women's hair. That they would survive and survive the Shoah, the Nazis could not even imagine. Nevertheless, about 110 out of about 2,200 survived, and several dozen of them either wrote about their experiences themselves or gave detailed interviews. But some of the dead also left behind written testimonies, burying them in the ground and ashes near the Auschwitz-Auschwitz crematoria. Some of them were there and discovered after the war. These scrolls are undoubtedly the central documents of the Holocaust, completely unknown in Russia until recently. The book is intended for all those interested in the history of World War II and the Holocaust.
