The Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) left a very deep mark on the soul and memory of the Russian people. To this day, the ardent interest of our compatriots in the tragic and heroic events of those distant years does not dry out. This war largely determined the fate of not only Japan, but also Russia. But if the victory of Japan became an incentive for the country to advance along the path of progress and increased its international prestige, then the defeat of Russia further exacerbated the contradictions and difficulties that our country faced at the turn of two centuries. We can say that this defeat became the detonator of those events that shook Russia in 1917 and led to the fall of the Empire. But we have nothing to fear from the memory of Tsushima. The truth, which we should be proud of, has shown that the Russian people have not lost their heroic spirit. This truth has been the driving force of the Russian people for a thousand years already, that living water that brings together again the temporarily disparate parts of the Russian state and lifts the country from the bed of a deadly disease, resurrecting it to a new life.
