The monograph considers the problem of psychological support for the training of athletes, which is one of the priority areas for improving the effectiveness of competitive activity in modern Olympic sports. The concept of psychological support in the system of training athletes in Olympic sports and its conceptual foundations (goal, objectives, methods, principles, conditions, factors of influence, performance criteria, stages of implementation, implementation algorithm) have been developed. The proposed concept combines the methodology of conducting psychodiagnostic studies and the system of psychological correction of the athlete's personality in Olympic sports in conjunction with the stages of many years of improvement, taking into account the characteristics of the competitive activity of individual sports according to the Olympic classification. Directions for the implementation of the concept are presented in the form of a strategy and a program of psychological support for athletes.
