Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilyov (1886–1921) is one of the brightest representatives of the poets of the Russian Silver Age, an exacting master of words, the author of a dozen collections of poetry. For many years, due to the tragic fate and the accusation of involvement in a counter-revolutionary conspiracy, it was not published. “The ban was lifted only on the centennial anniversary of the poet's birth, in 1986. And yet, few of the lyricists of the Silver Age were so popular in the USSR and had such an impact on Soviet poetry,” writes Valery Shubinsky in the preface to this book.Readers have the opportunity to see the face of the poet Nikolai Gumilyov in all its complexity and multidimensionality.
