Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (1864–1928) is one of the greatest Spanish prose writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In masterfully written works, the writer recreated pictures that give an idea of the contradictions in the life of Spain at that time. This volume publishes his famous novel "Courtesan Dream Interpretation", which tells about the siege in 219 BC. e. Carthaginian commander Hannibal of the Iberian city of Sagunta, which became a Roman colony. Hannibal decides to return Sagunt to the rule of Carthage at any cost, even if the city has to be destroyed. The heroic defense and the fall of Sagunt became the reason for the start of the Second Punic War. In the center of the novel is the love story of the beautiful Dream Interpretation, who went from a port courtesan to a rich and respected owner of ships and slaves, and the Greek mercenary Actaeon.
