Pharaoh is a novel by the Polish writer Bolesław Prus about the struggle for power between the young pharaoh Ramesses and the caste of priests of the god Amon-Ra. The action takes place in the 11th century. BC e. - during the decline of the XX dynasty of Egyptian pharaohs, a fictional historical character - Ramses XIII is trying to resist the High Priest Herihor. In the novel, excerpts from ancient Egyptian texts are mixed with obvious anachronisms and modern thoughts - at the same time, the work is considered one of the complete and accurate descriptions of ancient Egyptian society.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
