The Anaconda Loop strategy was first formulated during the American Civil War by General Scott, commander of the Northmen army. The essence of the strategy was to block enemy territories from the sea and along the coastlines, cutting off access to ports and, as a result, to achieve strategic attrition of the enemy. Subsequently, the Anaconda Loop strategy reached the geopolitical level - with its help, the United States and Great Britain intended to weaken the Eurasian powers (including Russia), taking coastal territories out of control of these states and preventing integration within the borders of the continent.< p> One of the leading Western geopoliticians, Englishman Halford J. Mackinder, developed this strategy first in practice, when he was the High Commissioner in the south of Russia during the intervention of 1918–1920, he carried out the plan “White periphery against the red center”, and then in his theoretical works . The Anaconda Loop strategy was further developed in the writings of the famous American politician Zbigniew Brzezinski, whose works are also presented in this book.
