This book is a look "from the other side" of the Great Patriotic War. Erich Kern entered the territory of the USSR together with the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler division on the third day of the Nazi invasion and took an active part in the hostilities throughout the war, until his capture by the Allies. Kern explains in his own way the reasons for the military and political defeat of Germany, talks a lot about the threat of Bolshevism, but the main leitmotif of his memoirs is trench truth, a clear picture of how the German units fought.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
