In this book we have the opportunity to learn from the Athos ascetics themselves how to lead a pious life. The holy monks, reverends and saints, whose names are listed in the Athos Patericon, from the time of the formation of Athos as the center of Orthodox monasticism, from the era of hesychasm - the activities of St. Nicephorus the Recluse, St. Gregory of Sinai, St. Gregory Palamas - and to this day, have left us a huge spiritual legacy - evidence of the enduring glory and continuous intercession of the Athos saints for the human race.
