Long, severe by winter nights little Vasilisa with brothers and sister sat at a fire and listened nurse fairy-tales. More all Вася loved a fairy-tale about Moroz, blue-eyed spirit of winter, that takes away the careless souls.The father of Васи widowed after some time brings a young wife from Moscow. A deeply believing stepmother forbids to the family чествовать heathen spirits, but Вася is afraid of consequences of this decision. Indeed, on village adversities are brought down one by one. But a stepmother becomes only severer, intending to arrange life in a manor in the way, and in concert to prepare a mutinous stepdaughter to the married life or taking of monastic vows. Defence of village weakens, and a forest evil steals up all nearer. To protect the family from a fairy-tale threat becoming reality, Vasilisa forces to start the dangerous abilities that she hid so long.
