German officer Клеменс Подевильс on the task of command of вермахта accomplished journeys on East front and made reports on distributions and reconnaissances of troops, results of the conducted battle operations, losses in a technique and manpower and that similar indexes, reflecting the state of army and position at the front. Executing the task, an author followed from Warsaw to Stalingrad and in detail described in a diary the fights of local value and decision battles on the banks of Дона, with the subsequent forcing of the river, battle for Stalingrad and street fights for every house, sparing the special attention to the domestic side of soldier's life at the front.
