This book is not an essay on the history of religions. It reflects my personal experience of discovering most of the foundations of religions in the veritable museum of world history that is India. The forerunner of Vedic Hinduism, the religions of the Greeks, Zoroastrianism and even Abraham, this early religion is the result of man's attempts, from the earliest ancestors, to understand the nature of creation in its balanced beauty and cruelty, and how he can identify himself in the work of the Creator and cooperate with him. This religion is natural, not moralistic, ecstatic and not ritualized. It attempts to understand the points of contact between different states of being and searches for harmonious relationships that allow each person to achieve their self-realization on the physical, intellectual and spiritual levels and to most fully play their role in the universal symphony.
