When Robin wakes up in a clinic with virtually no memories, he quickly realizes that someone is out to kill him. It's the twenty-seventh century, death has been defeated, people travel between the stars through teleport gates, and conflicts are resolved with the help of network worms that rewrite human consciousness. And with the early version of Robin, apparently, they did just that. Trying to escape from persecution, he voluntarily agrees to go to an artificially created, closed society designed to study the Dark Ages, that is, the end of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century. According to the conditions of the experiment, each participant is created a new personality, in no way connected with the previous one. But rescue quickly turns into a real trap, and scientific research turns into a real nightmare.
