The publication contains the first commented translation into Russian of Chou Qu-fei’s work “Lin Wai Dai Da” (XII century) - a unique complete description of the southern lands of Song China and foreign countries. The appendix also publishes for the first time a translation of an earlier work, “Guihai Yuheng Zhi” by Fan Cheng-da. The publication is supplemented by glossaries of basic toponyms and terms of flora and fauna.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
