For the first time, the collected works of the most widely read novelist of the Silver Age, Alexander Valentinovich Amfitheatrov (1862–1938), are being published. From the vast creative heritage of the emigrant writer, who has not been published in his homeland for about 70 years, the collection includes his best novels, novellas and short stories. Separate volumes will be composed of memoir-journalistic prose, in which the reader will find the answer to the question why Amphiteatrov, who so obviously sympathized with Social Democracy together with his friend M. Gorky, fled from it into exile when it came to power. The first volume presents novels “Princess”, “Fire-Color” and “Poisoned Conscience”, with which the glory of the brilliant writer began. The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
