“In Silence” is a narrative in which the main character remains silent throughout almost the entire text. Almost his only occupation is listening to the roar of the sea, in which the world and the beginnings of language are revealed. But silence suddenly appears as an emotionally charged area of thought, and the extremely neutral, “white” style gradually turns into biographical memories. Or, rather, the inability to clearly remember mother, childhood, even relatively recent events. The story is complemented by several prose miniatures that also explore the relationship between speech and silence, childhood and old age, philosophy and fiction.
