“I am a descendant of an ancient boyar,” “...the root of my nobility is lost in distant antiquity, the names of my ancestors are on all the pages of our History...”, “my family is one of the oldest nobles,” wrote Alexander, interested in the origins of his genealogy Sergeevich Pushkin. The family tree of the Russian genius is, in fact, nothing more than a cross-section of our Russian history. Indeed, his family is inseparable from the fate of the Fatherland. After all, starting with Rurik, among the poet’s ancestors are the great Russian princes Igor and Svyatoslav, Vladimir the Red Sun, Yaroslav the Wise, Vladimir Monomakh, Alexander Nevsky. The chain of Pushkin's genealogy connected Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, Lermontov and Gogol, Glinka and Mussorgsky... In the 70s of the 20th century, the Pushkin genealogy scheme was developed, which was only possible by an entire research institute, Pushkinist by the will of God Andrei Andreevich Cherkashin, a former military man, participant in the Great Patriotic War. This invaluable work was continued by his daughter, the author of this book about the ancestors and descendants of the great poet Larisa Cherkashina, who has published dozens of interesting publications on the Pushkin theme.
