Every soldier who has gone through a war makes a choice: either he finds the strength to continue serving, or he finds the courage to enter peaceful life. But sometimes a soldier finds neither one nor the other in himself. In the northern country of Iriy, such soldiers become hunters. A hunter is a man who lives by the sword, working for a private company, on behalf of the company, ready to exterminate the most vile criminals or even slay a demon. Maria, a veteran of the recent war, was such a soldier. While in the north, Maria accepted an order from the distant northern city of Pavlovka, where a gang of thieves had started at the mine, but upon arrival the mine secretary told the hunter that the management, protecting their interests, deliberately lied in the order about the thieves. Having learned from the secretary about the truly depressing state of affairs, Maria agreed to the job - this order should become her personal feat and the key to rapid advancement in her career.
