This publication highlights little-studied problems of Polish history during the “thaw” and “developed socialism” period (1956–1980). Using a large array of documents from Polish and Russian archives, the author introduces the reader to facts and events that had a huge impact on the worldview of modern Poles, but remain little known outside the country. The book, the fruit of many years of research into the history of Poland in the second half of the 20th century, includes works published in different years in scientific periodicals. Article “Zionists and the Party. On the role of anti-Semitism in the struggle of factions within the Polish United Workers' Party" is published for the first time.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. Важливе дослідження польської історії
Ця книга є справжнім відкриттям для всіх, хто цікавиться історією Польщі та її місцем у радянському блоці. Автор вдало висвітлює маловивчені аспекти періоду «відлиги» та «розвиненого соціалізму», використовуючи багатий архівний матеріал, що дозволяє читачеві отримати глибше розуміння подій, які формували сучасне польське суспільство. Особливо вразила стаття про антисемітизм у боротьбі всередині Польської об'єднаної робочої партії, яка, безумовно, є важливим внеском у наукову дискусію. Хоча переклад тексту, виконаний за допомогою штучного інтелекту, має деякі недоліки, загалом книга читається легко і зрозуміло. Це видання стане в нагоді не лише історикам, а й усім, хто прагне зрозуміти складні процеси, що відбувалися в Польщі в другій половині XX століття. Рекомендую всім, хто хоче розширити свої знання про цю важливу частину європейської історії!
