The famous journalist Evgenia Potapova is preparing a program dedicated to the problems of modern orphanhood. She is especially concerned about the reasons why women abandon their own babies. While collecting information, Zhenya accidentally meets his former classmate Lena Matveeva in one of the maternity hospitals. The girl is pregnant and preparing for the birth of the baby and the wedding. But soon Zhenya finds out: Lena’s child died during childbirth, and then Lena herself dies. She was killed in her own entrance during an attempted robbery. And Lena’s baby is alive and well and handed over to biological parents according to the surrogacy program. But Zhenya is sure that Lena would never agree to participate in such a program and would not give her beloved and only son to anyone.
