This book is dedicated to the Apostle Peter - the closest disciple of Jesus Christ, “the luminary of the apostles,” as he was called in the early Christian Church. There are many gaps in the biography of the Apostle Peter. We know almost nothing about his life before his call to apostolic ministry. In all four Gospels he is mentioned many times, but almost always is not in the center of the narrative, but in the shadow of the main character of the gospel story - Jesus Christ. Only in a few episodes does he play an independent role. The most important of them is the story of his renunciation, present in all four Gospels. Peter’s life at certain periods of time is well documented, and it is these segments that will become the object of our primary attention: the image of the supreme apostle is restored from them with sufficient completeness.
