The winner is the Thracian who kills his opponent. It turns out that this is Sparadok, the overthrown king of the Odrysians. A plan is brewing in Pericles’ mind - he needs just such a person in the Bosporus as the governor of Athens. So Sparadok becomes Spartacus.
