Earth, 2144. Jack, a scientist and anti-copyright activist, turned into a pirate. In her submarine, she is engaged in smuggling - she synthesizes and cheaply sells copies of expensive drugs. But the latest batch of “work stimulant” caused addiction and a number of deaths: people began to get fixated on work and go crazy. The pharmaceutical corporation, the owner of the rights to the original drug, strikes back. An unusual couple is sent after Jack’s head: Eliash, a military man, and his partner – combat robot Paladin. Gradually, a strange closeness arises between them, which they cannot explain. They will have to answer a fundamental question: is freedom possible in a culture in which everything, even people, can be property?
