The second science fiction book in the Sprial series tells how the main character Max Lai unexpectedly discovers a mossy cobblestone in his dacha. It was not a cobblestone, but a spaceship! As soon as he crossed the threshold of the spaceship, the engines, lights and a bunch of other things turned on. The ship turned out to be intelligent. People like him are called berserkers, they were created by creatures whose development comes first among other civilizations. Their race has a goal: to understand the whole world, machines do this for them in the material world, and in the magical space called the dark side, they study it personally, since machines do not work there.
