The historical novels of Lev Zhdanov (1864 - 1951) - popular before the revolution and until recently unknown to us - again won the reader with their action-packed, complex psychological narrative about the life of Russia from Ivan IV to Nicholas II. Russian sovereigns appear in them as living people, suffering, loving, and experiencing the pain of disappointment. Книга "У мережах інтриги" є справжнім шедевром, що занурює читача в складний і захоплюючий світ російської історії. Лев Жданов майстерно відтворює епоху, в якій живуть його персонажі, надаючи їм глибини і людяності. Читач має можливість спостерігати за інтригами, які плетуться навколо монархів, і відчувати їхні емоції — любов, страх, розчарування. Особливо вражає, як автор демонструє, що справжня влада часто належить не монарху, а хитромудрим радникам і фаворитам, які маніпулюють долями людей. Хоча текст був перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних недоліків у формулюваннях, це не зменшує загального враження від читання. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією та психологією людських відносин у складні часи
