The monograph is a historical-literary and at the same time systemic-typological study of the medieval French novel. Using a large amount of factual material, the author traces the history of the chivalric romance, and along with popular monuments (Thomas, Chretien de Troyes, etc.), little-known and previously little-studied works are explored.
