Today, armed formations opposing armed forces in different parts of the planet take as a basis the guerrilla method of warfare, which was most actively tested in Iraq. In turn, states and regular troops are actively studying the experience of “counterguerrilla operations” used by the United States in the Iraq campaign. Americans continue to reflect on the experience gained during this war. Thus, it seems necessary to us to highlight the key aspects of guerrilla and “counterinsurgency” in the Iraq War (2003-2011).
