Gaius Julius Caesar (100-44 BC) an outstanding statesman and great military leader of Antiquity. As a commander, Caesar made a significant contribution to the development of the military art of Ancient Rome. He fought all wars showing foresight and foresight in solving strategic problems. He sought to deploy his troops in a concentrated manner, which allowed him, acting along internal operational lines, to quickly create the necessary superiority over the enemy in the chosen direction. As a rule, he compensated for the lack of strength with swiftness, skillful maneuver and extensive use of field engineering fortifications and demonstrative actions to mislead the enemy. After winning the battle, he organized the pursuit of the enemy army, which he led decisively until the enemy was completely destroyed.
