The book is dedicated to the outstanding football player and coach Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky (1939-2002). The number one coach in Soviet and then Ukrainian football, recognized as one of the greatest innovators of this game throughout the world, Lobanovsky was a complex figure, always, under any power, remaining himself - and above all, a professional of the highest class. His straightforwardness and adherence to principles did not suit many - and partly this was the reason for the emergence of various rumors and speculations around him, and sometimes outright lies. The author of the book, sports journalist and historian Alexander Gorbunov, who knew Valery Vasilyevich closely and was friends with him, debunks these myths, talking about the personality of the outstanding coach and citing many new, previously unknown facts regarding the history of national sports.
