Автор майстерно поєднує елементи детективу і психологічної драми, створюючи напружену атмосферу, яка тримає в напрузі до самого кінця. Історія про зниклого бізнесмена, чия таємниця нарешті починає розкриватися, спонукає читача до роздумів про моральність, дружбу і зраду. Особливо вразила динаміка між Конрадом, поліцейським у відставці, та новими персонажами, які вносять свіжі елементи в розслідування. Хоча переклад тексту місцями може бути не зовсім ідеальним, це не заважає насолоджуватися захоплюючим сюжетом.
