This is a documentary novel about the activities of the underground youth organization of the city of Novomoskovsk, Dnepropetrovsk region, operating during the occupation of the city by German troops from September 1941 to September 1943. The book presents documents, written witnesses of underground participants, newspaper articles, and the diary of one of the active members of Nikita Golovko's organization, letters showing the formation, military path and tragic end of the organization two weeks before the liberation of the city. Щоденник Микити Головка та інші документи надають глибокий погляд на життя підпільників, їхні мрії, страхи та прагнення до свободи. Ця книга не тільки інформує, але й надихає, викликає гордість за тих, хто не здався у найскладніші часи. Хоча переклад тексту місцями може бути не зовсім точним, це не зменшує цінності та значущості матеріалу.
