The monograph is devoted to the history of the Goths in the Northern Black Sea region and the Balkans in the 3rd–4th centuries. The author examines the movement of the Gothic tribes from north to south, the history of their relationship with Rome and Byzantium, and analyzes the problem of the “state of Ermanaric”. The work summarizes the results of the study of the concept of Gothic history. The ethnonymy of the Germanic tribes is specially considered. The book is based on materials from written sources. Особливо вражає розгляд проблеми «держави Ерманаріха», що додає нові перспективи до вже відомих фактів. Книга побудована на основі різноманітних писемних джерел, що робить її науково обґрунтованою та цінною для істориків і археологів. Хоча переклад тексту, здійснений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, має деякі недоліки, загальна якість роботи не зменшує її значущості. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто прагне розширити свої знання про готів та їхній вплив на історію Європи!
