Головна героїня, Лера Ведмідь, є яскравим персонажем з характером, який викликає симпатію. Її шлях до професійного становлення та боротьба з власними емоціями роблять її дуже близькою та зрозумілою читачеві. Сюжет розвивається динамічно, з безліччю несподіваних поворотів, які змушують сумніватися в кожному персонажі. Взаємини між Лерою та Романом Вагнером додають романтичного забарвлення, а загадка родового прокляття надає історії містичного шарму. Єдине, що трохи відволікає від читання, - це деякі недоліки в перекладі, але вони не суттєво псують враження від книги.
