Friends of youth in a large group go to the mountains for the weekend. They have not seen each other for almost a quarter of a century and, in fact, are looking forward to this meeting without much joy. Now there is little that unites them, twenty-five years have not been in vain, life has turned out differently for everyone, but, by and large, hardly anyone has succeeded. Suddenly, the course of the festive dinner is interrupted by strange events, which gradually take on fantastic shapes and subjugate the further course of this story. Each in their own way explains the series of trials that befell them and seeks ways of salvation, relying on the relationships that connected them in their youth, on the feelings that they once experienced for each other.

David Monteagudo ( b. 1962) is a Spanish writer who came to literature rather late. “The End” is his first novel, which immediately brought the author great success with readers and critics. The book formed the basis of a film directed by Jorge Torregrossa.
