The story “Dancers in the Dark” was written between the fourth and fifth Sookie books. But it doesn't talk about any of the main characters in the series. It focuses on the backstory of a pair of dancers - Sean and Layla - whom observant readers met in the seventh book, when Sookie, along with the Louisiana delegation, went to the vampire summit in Rhodes. At the ball after the trial of the Queen of Louisiana, a couple of dancers performed, who subsequently calmed down the jealous Eric, who made Sookie's scene in the middle of the dances. This is a very touching and romantic story about love and the fact that sooner or later justice will prevail, the “bad guys” will be punished, and the “good” ones will live happily ever after.
